The second day in Las Vegas I think was my favorite! We went on a tour of the Hoover Dam! The driver of our hummer was very informative and told us the history of Las Vegas. Im not big into history, but it was actually very interesting!
All around the town there are these iron statues. We snapped a few pictures of some.
It was so pretty driving around and see the mountains. I have never been on this side of the United States so it was fun to see different scenery.
Just got to Hoover dam! |
Waiting in line |
One of the first things we did was go under ground and see how the dam works.
Then we went back up to the viewing deck.
It was super windy there and Jeff had fun taking pictures of my hair.
There were these two statues there and they say if you rub their feet you will have good luck! So of course we all rubbed them, many times!

Then we took off walking down the dam. I did not realize how big this dam was! It was HUGE!
Another pictures of my hair :)
And another...:)
There is a sign on the dam that says that it is the state border. In the below pictures the right side is Arizona and the left side is Nevada
There was this very touching story about a dog that was there while the dam was being built. If you zoom in you can read it.
On the way back to the hotel we saw a herd of Big Horn sheep! They are so cool!
Then we stopped for some pictures with the hummer!
It was so cool! I would recommend this tour to anyone! It was nice having your own tour guide and own hummer!
The rest of the day we gambled! We actually gambled on the same money until 3am! It was so much fun!
Great pics, Maddi! It looks like you all had great vacation!
