Magic Broom - Myth

So there has been all this talk about the magic broom. Apparently there is a certain time of year that it works. I have heard its when the planets align and I have also seen it happens when there is and equinox. Well last night Jeff and I decided to try it ourselves. The problem with our broom is it is slightly slanted. So after working at it a couple minutes Jeff was yelling at me to hurry and take a picture. I ran in the kitchen to see this!

Molli was even amazed!

Jeff enjoyed the extra help :)
So I am for sure it had nothing to do with either and it was a balancing act! Either way Jeff was pretty proud of himself!

Duct Tape Saver

So the other night Jeff and I were playing Rock Band. Jeff gets carried away sometimes when playing the drums and he slammed down on the base petal and it snapped. So I ran to Target and got some duct tape! Of course there is all these super cute ones but I picked one that wasn't too girly :)

I taped together his petal and it worked perfect again! I don't know if he likes it too much because of the cute tape but I love it!

I also thought of another way to use it. My shoe insert was falling apart and those are pretty expensive so I taped it back together and it looks and works pretty good!

I love it and can't wait for something else to fall apart so I can tape it together (haha) I also wanted to show pictures of where Molli likes to lay when we play Rock Band. I think it really freaks her out with all the noise so she has to be as close to you as possible. She is so cute!

Child Training Bible

I saw this on someone's blog and it is so cool! You can check it out at Child Training Bible. It is a regular bible that has been marked with highlighters and tabs and its color categorized! They also tell you how you can make your own! So cool!

This is what they say it is for on their website:

This Bible is designed for parents and children to seek answers from God's Word on common sinful problems. Topics include: disobedience, selfishness, anger, complaining and fear. The Child Training Bible makes it easy for parents to bring the truth of God's Word into times of instruction. Simply use the key on the inside-front cover of the CTB to locate the sinful behavior and find the section and color flags to go to. Read the highlighted verses with your child and explain what God says about the behavior that needs to be addressed. With the CTB you can make the most of your time with your children by using Scripture to instruct them in righteousness.

They are giving one away and you can enter to win one here!

New Addiction!

So I have been in a very crafty mood, so I went to Hobby Lobby. I went there looking for stuff to bejewel a ton of things but..... I came home with stuff to start painting!

I have always wanted to learn how to paint. I know I painted a lot in school but it was always on 3rd grade level. I want to be able to paint stuff that I would be proud of or even hang in my house!

My dream has always been (when I get rich) to have a room that is all windows so it has ton of light to paint and then at night I can look at the stars. I could be a painter by day and an astronomer by night :)

I found this great thing called "painting by numbers." It really is for beginner painters. It has a ton of numbers on a board and all the colors are numbered so you just paint the color of what number is shown. You even have to blend some colors so you get pretty fancy! (haha)
Mine is the horse one and Jeff's is the other

My Painting

FINISHED!
Jeff's Painting

I will post a picture of Jeff's finished picture later he is being slow :)
to be continued....

My blending plate

Jeff's blending plate
Yes Jeff pick some cute plates for us to use as our blending plate, but they were the only plastic plates we had :(

Last night I got so addicted to it, I was painting at one o'clock in the morning! I just couldn't put the paint brush down! I don't know if this is actually having me learn anything new but I feel awesome about what my painting turned out to look like and I feel good about it and thats all that matters to me. Sure anyone could paint this and it would probably look the same but I don't care I love it and feel very accomplished :)

Getting Crafty

Lately I have started to crochet. I learned how to crochet many years ago but just recently decided to start again. I am super excited because I have always wanted to make a blanket but never had enough time. Now that I sit around at home all day I figure there is no better time then now!

I like this color :)

I have also been watching YouTube videos to learn how to different stitches to be a little more fancy. I am not good enough to do a blanket in different patterns yet so I am just sticking with the standard stitch right now. I have been working on it for 2 days straight and I have gotten about 1/4 of it done! It is going to be a very small blanket lol. I hope to show you the whole blanket soon!
